Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar professionally known as Cardi B, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter.
Born on the 11th of October 1992 and raised in The Bronx, New York City, Cardi B, went on to becoming an internet celebrity after her posts went viral on social media. In 2015, she joined the cast of the VH1 reality television series Love & Hip Hop: New York where she followed her dreams and released two mixtapes.
Cardi B earned three number-one singles on the US Billboard Hot 100 with “Bodak Yellow” which made her the second female to top the chart with a solo, “I Like It” which made her the first female rapper to get multiple number-one songs on the chart and “Girls Like You” which she collaborated for with Maroon 5. She also claimed the number one spot on the Billboard 200 with her debut studio album, ‘Invasion of Privacy (2018)’ while breaking records and earning her a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album, making her the only woman to win the award as a solo artist.
Her victories include winning a Grammy Award, three American Music Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards, a Billboard Music Award, nine BET Hip Hop Awards and two Guinness World Records.
In 2018, Cardi B was included in the annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time.
Cardi B married Migos’ Offset in 2017 and gave birth to their first child, a daughter in 2018.
Cardi B released her steaming hot single alongside Bruno Mars called “Please Me” on February 15, 2019. On March 1, she released the official video for the song and also set a new attendance record of 75,580 fans in the audience at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. She recently replaced herself atop the Billboard Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop airplay chart with her single “Money” being replaced by her Pardison Fotaine collaboration “Backin’ It Up”. City Girls and Cardi B’s “Twerk” is standing in the third spot of the chart.
