Sony Pictures has released a statement following a report that the film studio couldn’t agree on a financing deal with Disney, and therefore Spider-Man would reportedly be pulled from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We are disappointed but respect Disney’s decision not to have Kevin Feige continue as a lead producer of our next live action Spider-Man film.
We hope this might change in the future, but understand that the many new responsibilities that Disney has given him, including all their newly added Marvel properties which will have a couple of issues in terms of time constraints to work on more. At this moment there isn’t any good news for all of the Spidey fans out there, as Feige and Holland both sat down at Disney’s D23 Expo to discuss the current matter at hand. The both were tense about the situation and specially Tom Holland, having just entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a newer, fresher Spider-Man. More of this is yet to be determined in the near future. But let’s cross our fingers and hope that this isn’t the end for Spidey.
